New Shower Block At Yalding

Below are drawings and photographs of the new boater's shower block on the Upper Medway Navigation at Yalding. The building consists of two rooms with a shower and toilet in each. Access is via a "pay as you use" system - £1 per entry and 10 minute shower

The building would have cost around £50k to build, however the Environment Agency have delivered this for free via the use of volunteer labour and some generous grants and donations.

Mid Kent College students are kindly providing the labour (giving their students industry training in doing so), and the Environment Agency have received generous grants from British Canoeing, Canoe England SE, the Medway River Users Association & Hampstead and Yalding Cruising Club to pay for specialist labour items and materials.

Other companies that are providing their kind expertise and management skills towards this project are:
Lee Evans Partnership
Astral Building Contractors Ltd
Black and Veatch
